Located in the heart of Singapore’s prestigious District 11, this recently refurbished house is entirely lit by LED lights in a bid to be green and reduce its carbon footprint. Built in 1980, this home was a forerunner in the modern housing design that was prevalent in Singapore during the 1970s and the 1980s. During its recent refurbishment that remained true to the original architecture, the house was interiorly designed with the theme of relaxed and stylish modernity in mind.
To improve the aesthetic outlook of the house while integrating the contemporary designs of today, carefully positioned energy efficient LED lights from IEQ Global were placed in and about the house. IEQ IntelliNRG™ LED Lamps were used to illuminate and highlight the modern lines of the house while enhancing the warmth and comfort of this home for a family of four.
Using IEQ IntelliNRG™ LED Strip Lights, areas that were once difficult to access are now lit up to showcase the interior decor of the house. The compact design of the LED lights has enabled the existence of multiple fittings for varying purposes. Placed strategically under shelves, stairs, and even under the bed, places that were once forgotten and relegated to the background of the house can now be highlighted and enhance the aesthetics of the home. A commonly found lighting fixture, this house features spotlights using MR16 and PAR30 light bulbs around the house. Used as accents around the house and positioned to shine against the walls, the LED Spotlights use little energy to create striking arches on walls while emphasising the intended displays in and around the house at the same time.
By ensuring that the home is lit up solely by energy efficient LED lamps, the homeowner has a substantial 50% to 80% of energy savings.
