Systems Certified To Eliminate All Virus-Sized Airborne Contaminants including H1N1, SARS and Avian Flu
SINGAPORE, 13 July 2010 – IEQ Global today announced that Parkway Holdings Limited’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital is the first hospital in Singapore to deploy its HealthWay™ EMF Air Purification Systems after successful testing in its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for elimination of small airborne particle matter and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC).
The HealthWay EMF Air Purification Systems have been tested by the National Indoor Environmental Quality Research & Innovation (NIEQRI) in the U.S. to achieve 99.99% efficiency in the elimination of all virus-sized airborne contaminants. In other words, the Air Purification Systems are certified to eliminate all virus-sized airborne contaminants including H1N1, SARS and Avian Flu by breaking down the molecular structures of virus molecules to render them inert, thereby destroying the virus completely.
Before deploying the systems, IEQ Global did a comprehensive test for Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Mr Sim Tian Seng, Parkway’s Chief Infection Control Officer, said: “The test results of the comprehensive air purification trial and demonstration for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) proved that the EMF air purification systems are able to improve the indoor air quality by significantly reducing small airborne particles and Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC). The systems are able to trap and kill airborne organisms which are most beneficial to our patients and staff working in the ICU setting”.
HealthWay™ EMF Air Purification Systems is the world’s first and only air purification system with EMF technology, which was developed with the U.S. Department of Defence in a research study focused on countering germ warfare. Unlike most conventional filtering systems, EMF filters not only trap airborne particles, but are tested and proven to kill up to 100 per cent of viruses, bacteria, mould and fungi. This is achieved through the patented revolutionary system, which is able to create a high energy field that raises the efficiency of the media filter to 99.99% at 0.3 microns, surpassing all other types of filtration.
Mr Jeffrey Tang, Managing Director of IEQ Global Pte Ltd, said: “It is important to have good indoor air quality to prevent secondary airborne infections in a hospital environment. By using the HealthWay EMF Air Purification Systems, Mount Elizabeth Hospital is a step ahead in helping patients in their recovery process.”
The EMF Air Purification Systems have proven to have the ability to eliminate contagious viruses such as H1N1, Avian Flu and SARS. This will help to manage any pandemic outbreaks.
Used in indoor areas where the air has to be chemical and pollutant-free, EMF technology is available for homes, offices, hotels, hospitals and factories today. The HealthWay™ EMF Air Purification System is listed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a Class II Medical Device and is recognised as the world’s most advanced medical grade air cleaning system. Its accolades include the U.S. NASA Technology 2005 SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) Award and the U.S. National Research and Development Award.
